The Freeform 700A Ultra Precision machine is designed for versatility, supporting three dimensional diamond turning, micro-milling, micro-grinding and grooving of non-rotationally symmetric surfaces. The Freeform 700A can be configured with up to 5-axes by means of Optional B and C-Rotary axes. Typical applications for the Freeform 700A include, but are not limited to, Raster and Groove Milling, 3-axes Tool Normal Contouring, and 2-axes Contouring.

The 5 axis machine comes standard with a sealed natural granite base that provides exceptional long term stability and Hydrostatic oil bearing slideways with optimized stiffness and damping characteristics.

The Freeform 700A features an X-axis that provides 350mm of travel, a Z-axis that provides 300mm of travel, and a Y-axis that provides 150mm. The spindle / C-axis has a load capacity of >50Kg.

• A closed-loop, servo-controlled pneumatic air counter balance system on the Y-axis minimizes the effects of gravity during the machining operation.
  
  
• A high performance, liquid-cooled precision air-bearing spindle equipped with an 8” vacuum chuck for work piece mounting and a C-axis encoder for both Slow Tool Servo and optional Fast Tool Servo freeform machining.
  
  
• Precitech’s Thermal Control Room, specially designed for long-term thermal stability, is recommended for freeform machining.
